The city of Reykjavik is by far the largest city in the nation of Iceland, and certainly the most important. It is home to a majority of Iceland's population, and contains the largest airport facilities on the island nation. There are two airports in the city – Reykjavik Airport and the Keflavik International Airport.
The Reykjavik Airport is the main domestic airport in the country, serving almost half a million passengers on average each year. Although the largest airport is the Keflavik Airport, which rests some 50kms away from the capital, Reykjavik is quite smaller, but only a few kilometres from downtown.
Some of the airlines operating from the airport include Air Iceland, Atlantic Airways, Eagle Air and Myflug. The busiest is certainly Air Iceland, which serves more than a half dozen cities.
For a closer look at the terminal's services and facilities, scroll through the information passages below.
1. Baby Changing Rooms: mothers and yes, even some of the modern fathers, will be pleased to know that the airport boasts some baby changing rooms for their convenience. Part of the room is also set aside for baby feeding, so that mothers don't have to breast feed in public.

3. Airport Hotel: Reykjavik Airport hotels are on offer for tourists wanting to stay somewhere close and clean. The airport hotel is much more convenient than other hotels in surrounding airports, as the lodging is only a few minutes from the centre of the city.
4. Bus services: there are bus services that travel from the terminal to the downtown area of Reykjavik every 15 minutes. However, because the airport doesn't serve a constant supply of flights and passengers, the buses generally run according to arrival times. In addition to buses, car rental is provided by the facility for passengers.
5. Business Centre: there is a business centre in the airport, suitable for carrying out small meetings or conferences, not to mention a great place to relax and do some work while waiting for a flight to depart. The business centre is found within the Saga Executive Lounge, close to the catering area.

7. Playground: after a long holiday, or visiting friends, the last thing travellers want to do is waiting at the airport longer than they have to, especially when there are children involved. But, at Reykjavik Airport, a children's playground is just the ticket to get the kids out of the way, and provide time for mothers and fathers to relax or unwind.
8. Banking: exchanging money is a popular service at the airport. Although the rates are usually much higher than in other exchange bureaus around town, the airport's money exchange service remains invaluable for arriving passengers.
9. First Aid: the first aid centre is located within the terminal, and is available all day, and all night.
