The gesture of the Pope as the fruit was this "Fund", which was to be invested in programs of agrarian reform. The Foundation "Populorum Progressio" made their own, structured and completed, constitutes a single entity. In creating the Foundation "Populorum Progressio," Pope John Paul II invited, like its predecessor, the international community, the institutions and people of good will to redouble their efforts to promote the integral development of the campesinos and indigenous people of Latin America, that are still in a state of underdevelopment. Also invited all the Episcopal Conferences, especially those of developed countries and Latin America itself, to make up a collection among its faithful to do so.
