Established in the year 1832, the city of Busselton is one of the most important tourist destinations for the state of Western Australia. It is only a little more than 200kms from the capital of the state, Perth, and has been awarded with numerous holiday and tourism accolades over the past two decades. Busselton may not be as renowned as Perth, Broome, or Kalgoorlie, but when it comes to the tourism trade in WA, no place beats this little gem of a town.
Of course, thousands of visitors flock to the coastal city every year, especially during the summer months and the school holiday periods. It is without a doubt one of coastal Western Australia's most prized possessions, and as a result, a lot of time has been put into it standing as a prominent tourist town. Busselton hotels are growing in number…as with the city itself.
One of the major concerns for tourists is the shopping options and dining options. Where can one go to enjoy a meal or shop for a loved one? Well…Busselton doesn't have an overly large selection of either places, but visitors can still find them if they know where to look. To make it easier, simply scroll down -
1. Busselton Central Shopping Centre: certainly the main shopping and eating complex in the city of Busselton. This large shopping centre is home to a plethora of shops and stores, offering everything under the sun. Retail shoppers will find plenty of clothing and accessory stores to satisfy, including some of the most reputable retail stores in Australia. Visitors will also find lots of restaurants, some of which are sit-down establishments, while others are of the more fast-food type.
2. Busselton Boulevard Shopping Centre: this shopping centre is a little bit smaller than the Central located just down the road, but there are also plenty of options for visitors when it comes to exploring the shopping stores. Retail, electronics, banks, supermarkets, and newsagencies are but some of the many stores available in the Boulevard Shopping Centre. Like Central though, this centre is home to a host of restaurants, and although they aren't as picturesque or romantic as other restaurants around the city of Busselton, they certainly do provide that gastronomical craving satisfaction that people often need.
3. Beachfront: when it comes to the more high-end, romantic restaurants of the city of Busselton, there is no better place to look than the beach front area of the town. Visitors can find some spectacular seafood restaurants located just off the beach, while some of the resorts in the town boast the most expensive, and quite frankly, most delectable cuisines in the area. The restaurants are definitely worth the extra expensive that usually comes along with dining experience. If visitors are not staying in the hotels along the beach, then it is still remarkably easy to reach them, with car rental, taxis, or even on foot!
4. Street Shopping: now shopping in the centres of Central and the Boulevard are one thing, but it is also possible to do some shopping along the streets of the city. It may not be as glamorous, nor extensive as the shopping centres, but visitors will be able to find an array of different businesses to explore. The streets certainly don't have the convenience of the shopping centres, but the crowds are much less intimidating.
5. Street Dining: In addition to the street shopping, there is also a good range of restaurants found throughout the city. This is where many of the more basic restaurants are found, but there are still some awesome spots available.
