Highest Places for Tourists in Himachal Pradesh

Rohtang Pass - The most famous pass in India, Rohtang Pass, is at a distance of 51 kms from Manali and claims to be the ‘World's Highest Jeep able road'. At an altitude of 13,051 ft above sea level, the Rohtang Pass connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys in Himachal Pradesh. Unpredictable snow storms and blizzard have earned this pass the title of being ‘dangerous'. The main attractions here include Sonapani Glacier, Sulphur Springs and Bhrigu lake. Baralacha Pass - Located on the Leh-Manali Road, Baralacha Pass in Himachal Pradesh is marked by the snow capped stretch of Baralacha Mountains. On a height of 16,400 ft above sea level, the pass is 8 kms long and connects Lahaul in Himachal to Ladakh in Kashmir. This pass has served as a path since ancient times. The main attractions tourists can enjoy on this pass include Suraj Tal Lake and various rivers viz Chenab and Bhaga.

Pin Parvati Pass - At a height of 14000 ft above sea level, Pin Parvati Pass is an ideal and one of the most strenuous trekking trails in Himachal Pradesh. The trek at the pass will take you around some of the best natural attractions. Great Himalayan National Park and Pin Valley National Park can be visited during this trek and if luck favors, tourists can site snow leopards and rare birds like Western Tragopan. The remotely located monasteries are the best places to unwind after a long trek at the Pin Parvati pass.

Kunzum Pass - This pass is located in the Lahaul and Spiti Valley, around 6000 mts above sea level. Bara-Sigri Glacier – Second Largest Glacier in the World, Durga Temple, Hill Resorts of Baralacha La, Darcha, Tanglang La and Sarchu are some of the delightful places that one can enjoy during their visit to the Kunzum pass. Serving as ‘gateway to Spiti', tourists can also visit Leh while passing through the beautiful hill station of Keylong. Baralacha La, Darcha, Tanglang La and Sarchu, Tandi, Trilokinath and Udaipur are a few delightful hamlets that one can explore during their trek in this pass.
