The staff at Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts worldwide recently announced that one of their luxurious Maldives hotels will soon be re-named to include the prestigious brand's name. From 1st September, the name of Beach House Maldives was replaced by the Waldorf Astoria Maldives, and the change will become effective on 1st October. According to the company's research carried out on the Waldorf Astoria New York, changing the hotel's name will help people easily recognise the luxurious hotel chain, and associate its new name with its lavish attributes. According to the research conducted, name recognition of the Waldorf Astoria brand among frequent and upscale travellers is extremely high (at 82 per cent) making the brand easily recognisable and linked to the attributes of luxury, excellent service and unsurpassed quality.

Despite the name change, it is the hotel company's main goal to maintain the resort's famed reputation for lavishness, comfort and wonderful service. World Travel Awards 2011 Honours Soneva Gili by Six Senses with Two Awards

The World Travel Awards 2011 have honoured Soneva Gili by Six Senses with not one, but two, prestigious awards at the recent gala ceremony held in SOHO Square, Egypt.

The World Travel Awards are known within the travel industry as the "Oscars of travel and tourism" and this year, approximately 213,000 travel industry professionals took part in the voting process.

The WTA 2011 African and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony took place at the Egypt Hall in SOHO Square in Sharm el Sheikh on 16th September. Attendees of the event included government ministers, tourist board chiefs and travel company executives from all over the world.
