Enrich your mind with a visit to the buganda palace

Enrich your mind with a visit to the Buganda palace

Are you the kind of person so enthusiastic about the history
of different kingdoms in the world? Then take no time to rush to Uganda to have
more of the interesting stories about this popular kingdom in east Africa when
you visit the Buganda palace. Here is some little information you should know
about some of the things to see once in this palace.

I will start with the fire place also known as the"
gombolola"or" ekyoto" in the local language luganda. This is a place where the
king of Buganda used to give blessings to his fighters before heading down for
a battle. You may be asking yourself how this was done, well the king would
give the fighters some ash from this fire place, smear themselves and head to
the battle ground  to scare the enemies.
A woman cannot start the fire in this place? The reason ….!Find out more when
there.

The cave is a place where President Milton Obote used to
keep his fighting weapons but after his loss of power to Amin Dada, Amin turned
the cave into a torturing place for his enemies and those disobedient to his
orders. It was more of a slaughter place where some people were killed and
others committed suicide as got fade up for the brutality facing their way.
This cave has two sections where one was up where the captives could be kept and
the down one had water in which electric wires were passed to cause shock in
case one wanted to escape from this cave.

The royal mile is a distance of exactly one mile from the
gate of the palace to the radio station,"bulange emengo" this is a place said
to be where the loyal people waited for the king to say hi,it would be such a
great pleasure to those he managed to shake their hands and could say "kabaka
anjagala" meaning "the king loves me" a reason why this royal mile is known
as  "kabaka anjagala"in the local
language.

There are many other things to learn about in this palace I would
suggest you try a Uganda safari inclusive of this very place in your itinerary.
