about Kibale forest national park
This forest which was gazetted into a national park in the
year of 1993 has a lot to offer in terms of wildlife and biodiversity. Things
not to miss out when in this park are the mammals, reptiles, birds, apes and
various tree species.
Some of the mammals in this park include lions and elephants,
the reptiles include pythons, black
mambas ,green mambas, primates include the baboons,monkeys,chimpanzees.for
those interested in the green canopies ,this
tropical rain forest is the only place
to be, with a variety of tree species like phoenix palm, wild lemon a natural Viagra,polia
tree eaten by guinea fowl birds ,the
elephant beard tree edible to
elephants,ubogia ugandasis known for cough treatment and many more.
Did you know that kibale means a big stone? Since this
forest was initially used for hunting, the king used to rest on this big stone
between the park and fort portal town resulting into naming it after this stone.
The most popular interesting activity in this park is
chimpanzee tracking, so you who confuse the chimpanzees with the gorillas its
high time you considered having a tour to this national park. Bird watching is
also another activity you should watch out for. All these activities can be
spear headed by professional guides, very knowledgeable about whatever you are
interested in .entrance charges are very favorable to both the local and international
visitors.

location only describes what to expect, being located aside the elephant wallow
assures you of seeing these giant mammals wallowing in the mud plus other animals.
