UK Trips for Summer

Staycations are becoming popular in the current economic climate, and people are choosing to holiday in the UK a lot more. The UK has so much to offer the traveller, so where should you start?

Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, in Scotland, is the largest lake in Great Britain. The Trossachs are the park that surrounds the lake, and you can fish for trout and salmon; a sport that attracts hundreds of visitors on a yearly basis. You can fish from the shore or hire a boat to take you out onto the lake.

The Brecon beacons in Wales offer you some great caving opportunity, thanks to the intricate system that sits below the park. There are local clubs that can help you out if you are a beginner, and if you don't fancy the entire caving experience then you can just visit a well lit cave for a little look around.

Coasteering is fast becoming a popular sport, and you can do this in Pembrokeshire, where the rugged landscape really lends itself to this activity. It's not for the faint hearted, but if you like the rush of adrenalin and a climb, then this could be for you.

If you prefer something a little more refined, then opt for the Lake District, where you can visit some of the many stately homes in the area. Visit Wordsworth's house for a glimpse back into history, and meander round the well kept gardens.

If history is your bag then why not consider taking a walk along what's left of Hadrian 's Wall? Stand where roman soldiers stood all those hundreds of years ago, and choose to walk, bike, or take a trip that runs on the bus up and down the span of the wall.

If you would prefer to stay in the south of the country ten you can go hang gliding over the South Downs, as it is the most popular site for this activity in the UK.  England's newest national park offers something for everyone, so if you don't fancy sport then walk along the cliffs ad see the seven sister and beachy head.

If you are planning a trip this summer then ensure you have Travel Insurance.
