Have you been for long asking your self the place to be this coming holiday?Think no any further,the answer is right here with you.Mt .Elgon National Park is the only place to be.Mountain Elgon is a massive solitary volcanic mountain on the boarder of eastern uganda and western Kenya.It is eight kilometers in diameter and rises 3070m above the sorrounding plains.Its cool heights offer  respite for humans from hot plains below and its higher altitudes provide a refugee for flora and fauna.Once on this mountain,you can be able to see the other side of western Kenya and though it straddles the Kenya border ,its loftiest peak ,Wagagai lies within Uganda and is best ascended  from the Ugandan side.Its slopes support a rich variety of aititudunal vegetation zones  ranging from montanne  forest to high open  moorland studded with the other worldly giantlobelia and groundsel plants.

This Mountain is one of the oldest natural features in uganda,first errupting around twenty million years ago and was once Africa's highest Mountain,towering above kilimanjaro's 5895m.un fortunately soil erosion reduced its height  to 4321m.But this is not a matter that can stop you from going  for a Ugandan safari  particulary to mbale district where this mountain is located.It is still an adventurous mountain where you can do hiking and other activities like bird watching of which you can be sure of many bird species that not been recorded else where in uganda,scenic  viewing which is the main attraction on this  oft neglected and relatively  un demanding mountain,photograph taking,game viewing .which are a tremendous activities that will allow you to experience the beauty of Uganda.

The sippi  falls that flow from the top of the mountain is another wonderful view experience that you cannot miss out on seeing.it is really a wonderful  view and experience all in all.Other attractions that you cannot miss out on seeing are the ancient cave painting close to  the  trailhead at budadiri and the spectacular caves and hot springs within the crater.the only one simple thing to do is to consider a Ugandan safari to this mountain and then all your expectations will be met.
