The beautiful Shuswap Valley

 Many people who come to the Shuswap come to enjoy the houseboating that is so popular in this region. Almost every scene could be a postcard and every roadtrip an adventure of its own; there is a surprising amount of activity in this little valley.

Some people love the area so much that they decide to live here permanently. Sicamous, which is the gateway to the Shuswap, is a quaint, yet growing town with much to offer. Sicamous is close to Revelstoke and Salmon Arm, and not too far from the famous Vernon B.C. (an amazing town to visit if you haven't yet). This is another reason why the Shuswap is such a popular tourist attraction for many people. When I talk to people who vacation in the Shuswap and surrounding area, I find that the biggest reason for their visiting is their desire for peace and quiet that nature provides. The beaches are gorgeous, and the ski resort is a big attraction in the winter.

The overall feeling of the Okanagan and Shuswap area is true bliss. People are friendly and welcoming, and there is a sense of community that the city lacks. I didn't feel like waiting to take a vacation to visit this beautiful part of the world, so I made it my home. I'm sure glad I did!
